Love is electric. It’s the best feeling. I’ve always loved watching romantic comedies and listening to love songs. I looked forward to falling in love and spending the rest of my life with The One. The idea of starting a family and growing old together has never left the back of my mind.
I’ve spent my life working and traveling. Whether it was modeling on runways, starring in reality shows, coming out with new mottos, creating new brands, or DJing in Ibiza, the Boss Babe in me has never turned off. But no matter how focused or in the moment I was, there was always the part of me that wanted to feel love and be loved by a partner. Paris is the city of lights, and I’ve always seen them shining, but it’s also the city of love. I know now that those decades of waiting were preparing me for Carter. Our timing was cosmically perfect.
Carter and I knew each other for quite some time before we began our journey together. Carter’s sister, Halle, is like a goddaughter to my mom. Halle and her husband have always been close to my family, so Carter and I occasionally crossed paths at Burning Man, events, and family functions. It wasn’t until 2019 that our relationship went from casual to butterflies-in-your-stomach.
I’ll never forget the moment we locked eyes that Thanksgiving in the Hamptons, and everything changed. I had decided to spend the holiday with my family in the Hamptons. My parents and I were on the way home from lunch when my mom mentioned that Halle had invited her over for Thanksgiving lunch. My mom dropped by, and I happened to tag along. When I did, I couldn’t help but notice how sweet Carter was to his mom. I’ve always said you can tell a lot about a man based on how he treats his mom, and it was clear to me that Carter had a heart of gold. I knew he was a keeper. We had our first kiss that night after dinner, then our first date in New York City two days later. We haven’t spent a single night apart since.
From the moment we kissed, I knew what Carter and I had was rare. I believe everything happens for a reason, and I will be forever grateful that I went to the Hamptons that Thanksgiving.
I love everything about Carter, and he’s changed my life in so many beautiful ways. His love has shaped me into the woman I know I was meant to be. Our feelings are intense and incredible, and I’ve never felt more alive.
When Carter proposed to me, it was the best moment of my life.
To celebrate our birthdays, we took a trip to a private island. We’re both Aquarians, born twelve days apart. It’s like our love was written in the stars! Carter had scheduled a beach photoshoot for us. I was a little surprised, but I thought it was a sweet gesture. He told me to wear a dress, which made me think something big was going to happen. Then again, one of Carter’s best qualities is that he loves to get dressed up as much as I do. I didn’t know what to think!
When Carter told me it wouldn’t be difficult to schedule the photoshoot for another day if I wasn’t ready in time for the sunset, my suspicions were thoroughly quashed. But as soon as we stepped onto the sandy beach, Carter got down on one knee. He had the most beautiful speech prepared, and it made me cry tears of absolute joy.
I said yes, of course! The biggest surprise of all was when our families popped out from their hiding spots on the beach. He invited my sister Nicky, her husband James, my brother Barron, his wife Tessa, and Carter’s mom and brother. It was so magical to share our moment with the people we love. If that wasn’t enough, Carter gave me a book with a poem he wrote about our connection. I don’t want to overshare, but one of my favorite lines in the poem was about getting to know the real Paris, not “Paris Hilton.” That meant a lot to me.
Even my engagement ring is perfect. Carter commissioned Jean Dousset to design my ring. Jean is the great-great-grandson of Louis-Francois Cartier, the founder of the eponymous Cartier jeweler. Jean created a breathtakingly beautiful ring inspired by the Grand Palais in Paris. Fittingly called The Paris, my ring features 15 diamonds circling an engraved letter P with a sapphire that appears to be lit from within. It’s just gorgeous.
And now for the wedding. Preparing for a wedding is a lot of work. I’ve been dress shopping, checking out venues, and planning my bachelorette party because I want to design my dream destination wedding myself. We even have a camera crew documenting my wedding planning experience in New York City for my new docu-series, “Paris in Love,” on Peacock. I’m excited to invite my fans along for my happily ever after!
You know “Paris in Love” will be completely outrageous, emotional, and very entertaining. This series is going to reveal a personal side of myself that I typically reserve for family and friends. But like I said, being in love is the most magical feeling and I can’t wait to share all the magic! I’m overjoyed, in love, and excited to begin this next chapter.
