The devastating wildfires in Los Angeles have displaced thousands of families, leaving many without homes, stability, or essential resources.
Families with young children are especially vulnerable, and pets and wildlife have been severely impacted as well.
In response, 11:11 Media Impact, my nonprofit organization, has launched an emergency relief initiative to address the urgent needs of displaced families with young children. This initiative is focused on ensuring families have access to safe, short-term housing and vital resources including cash assistance and essential supplies.
I am is launching with a personal contribution of $100,000 and will match up to $100,000 of additional funds raised. This effort could not be possible without collaboration and a sense of urgency. Thank you to Amy Marks Dornbusch for matching the initial funding so we can launch with $200,000 to immediately deploy.
The Goal
Our mission is to provide flexible, impactful support to displaced families with young children by:
- Delivering cash assistance through a partnership with humanitarian organization CORE, empowering families to address their most pressing and unique needs.
- Providing essential supplies for families with young children, including diapers, formula, and hygiene kits, through partners like Baby2Baby and corporate partners.
- Connecting families to safe, short-term housing and essential needs in partnership with local community organizations and Hilton.
Why This Matters
As a mom, I can’t imagine the unimaginable pain of being displaced with young children, wondering where to go or how to care for your babies. This initiative provides not only immediate relief but also a pathway toward rebuilding lives with dignity and security.
Wildfires devastate more than homes—they uproot lives, create uncertainty, and disrupt the stability children and families desperately need. By offering targeted and flexible support, we can help families regain a sense of normalcy and hope during this challenging time.
